ho visto che oltreoceano ci sono delle persone che hanno montato sulla loro Vulcan 650 la cinghia dentata al posto della catena.
Potete leggere le loro impressioni su questo post, per chi nn ha fessbuc incollo il testo in inglese qua sotto:
Belt drive update after 4000 km: (vulcan S modify)
After installation of the belt drive i made 2 longer tours of 1500-2000 km and number of shorter rides in area.
Majority during dry conditions on good roads but also in rain (massive thunderstorm), wet roads and on gravel roads (dusty)
My experiences sofar:
- no adjustment on slack required
- no maintenance
- smooth rides
- just no worries
But i have noticed also that belt make a little squeek noise when wet; actually after washing it but the noise is gone soon when dry. I talk about noise but it is nothing more than a small squeek.
Riding in rain give same noise but honestly you have to focus on it as i did to hear it over the rain noise.
Recently at last 500 km of my tour i noticed this same squeek noise while accelerating at low speeds..... was wondering why and checked belt and experience of belt-users in general....could be dust and dirt i read.
Then back from tour i had bike washed and now the noise is gone....
I had some wet roads with mud on it and i guess some splashed on belt causing this noise...... again it is minor but when it is quiet you hear everything.
From beltdrive riders experiences i learned that many experiences this when riding in dirty/wet situations. Just washing bike is sufficient; some use their wives toothbrushto clean the belt on side.....
One thing i know; NOT use any belt cleaner or impregnations...... nor paraffin etc..... it will only attract dust hence create more noise.
For me i now know if i hear something and want it gone, just "wash" my belt.

Ciao Davide, a parte per la pulizia non mi pare che dica molto su come si é trovato con la cinghia, non ha dato molte indicazioni. Però la cosa potrebbe essere interessante👍

@dino da come ne parla in altri post non vede differenze tra la catena e la cinghia, a parte la totale mancanza di manutenzione nella seconda, si lamenta solo del rumore, che però è tipico delle cinghie dentate.
Al limite con un po' di silicone spray dovrebbe cessare quasi del tutto.

@dino da come ne parla in altri post non vede differenze tra la catena e la cinghia, a parte la totale mancanza di manutenzione nella seconda, si lamenta solo del rumore, che però è tipico delle cinghie dentate.
Al limite con un po' di silicone spray dovrebbe cessare quasi del tutto.
